Tainted Gold

When Donny Jamison discovers a portal to an alternate world, he quickly realizes the financial possibilities and enlists the help of his brother, Eric. They put together a team of ten other people and, with the aid of the other-world natives, set off on a quest to gather all the gold they can find. But problems soon arise. Donny has to contend with an angry native who thinks the portal and everyone who comes through it is evil. Donny finds a world that’s more dangerous and unforgiving than he’d ever imagined. One of the members of his group gets drunk and is accused of killing a young native girl. Will Donny and his group die violent, horrible deaths at the hands of bloodthirsty natives? Or will they make it through the portal and back to their world and safety?

Reviews

Tainted Gold by Layne Walker is a story about how things can go terribly wrong if you only care about becoming rich.
Layne Walker wrote a story that is very entertaining and also surprising. Tainted Gold is a book you won’t want to put down because the author makes you think things like ‘No, he would not really let that happen to his characters.’ Guess what? That author knows no mercy! There are heaps of surprises and that’s quite rare in a book these days. It’s an excellent piece of fiction and I’m quite motivated to read more by the same author.
